Chad Evans

  • On 20 April 2012 Chedwyn Evans, a 23 year old professional footballer, was convicted of rape at Caernarfon Crown Court
  • On Friday 17th October 2014 at 5am he was released from custody and will continue the fight to clear his name
  • Complainant who was alleged to have been raped in this case stated when interviewed by the police and subsequently maintained in Court that she could not remember anything at all, other than a very brief period in a take-away
Ched Evans, the footballer convicted of rape, has faced criticism from fans and women's groups alike over his potential return to the sport

Stopped league one offering him a long term deal ruined his football career.

21,000 people backed the petition in less than 24 hours,
160,000 signatures in September.

Among the fastest-growing online petitions ever - has changed the minds of football mangers
Twitter, where she has around 2,000 followers

"We do believe he has the right to work. We believe that it does not have to be in a role where he influences views about sexual violence, and his presence on your pitch will do this."

Women are being harsh on Chad Evans even though he has done something wrong, many children look up to him as a role model. Everybody makes mistakes and being drunk and committing these crimes are different to being sober. Maybe the petition should be about illegalising alcohol rather than stopping him from having a successful career. The substance caused him to make these actions and he should be accounted for them.

What if the woman alleged of being raped isn't telling the truth about the night and is lying about not knowing.
