Islamic State crisis: Iraq air strikes 'halt IS advance'
  • Ameriyat al-Falluja, 40km (25 miles) from Baghdad
  • Syrian refugees have flooded in to Turkey to escape IS militants making gains in northern Syria
  • Overnight strikes hit the provinces of Aleppo, Raqqa, Hassakeh and Deir al-Zour
  • President Obama candidly admitted the US had "underestimated" the threat of IS
  • Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), which monitors the conflict in Syria, said mostly civilians were hit.

In Syria US war planes also struck four more oil fields controlled by IS militants on Sunday, near the group's stronghold in Raqqa. The Pentagon said the attacks were "successful", though the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), which monitors the conflict in Syria, said mostly civilians were hit. The BBC's Mark Lowen, near the Turkey-Syria border, says airstrikes in Syria appear focused on cutting off IS's revenue by targeting oil fields. The overnight strikes hit the provinces of Aleppo, Raqqa, Hassakeh and Deir al-Zour, hitting a grain silo, or storage container, as well as the country's biggest gas plant, according to SOHR. However the strikes in the town of Manbij in Aleppo province appeared to have only killed civilians, not fighters, said Rami Abdulrahman who heads the organisation.

More women accuse YouTube celebrity Sam Pepper accused of sexual assault: Star allegedly 'solicited naked images from a 15-year-old girl' and 'forced a fan to perform a sex act on him'
  • Woman came out to say that Sam Pepper tried to solicit nude photos of her in 2011 when she was 15 and he was 22
  • Dottie says that she went on a date with Sam Pepper when she was 16-years-old and that he tried to grope her and touch her inappropriately
  • Sam Pepper, 25 years old
  • Video gained more than 1.3 million views before it was removed by YouTube for violating YouTube's 'Terms of Service'
A woman has come out of the woodwork to say that she's been sexually harassed when she was 15 by a YouTube celebrity whose video of him groping women on the street has gone viral and she’s not the only one. The star of the video and former U.K. Big Brother contestant Sam Pepper sparked outrage after a video of him asking women for directions on the street then groping them with a hand hidden beneath a sweatshirt quickly circulated the internet.

'Trick': Pepper pretended to ask women on the street for directions before grabbing their bottomsThe YouTube star Sam Pepper has had many sexual harassment cases in the past, making video like 'how to get a girls number' and 'kissing strangers on the beach'. This video he put up of pinching women butts has caused a massive outrage and has caused many big YouTube channels to partner up and sign a letter explaining his actions and to stop making videos like these. He then released another video but the roles reversed explaining that it had all been a social experiment  and that he is sorry but his actions were done so he could raise awareness on male sexual abuse. Which seems rather odd by sexually touching another female without her permission. Its apparent that he is being charged for rape for the young 16 and 22 year old scandal he did a few years back.

This has destroyed YouTube's reputation and people are questioning if YouTube is taking the right precautions when a person uploads a video.

Sony Turnaround Effort Falters, Expects $2.15 Billion Yearly Loss
  • 2.5 billion lose over one year
  • Gaming sector most successful part of Sony
  • Sony leading gaming division outselling Xbox 3:1
Sony announced a 2.5 billion lose over this past financial year, due to the TV and phone division not doing so well. In recent months the TV division was the highest at one point but due to LG and Samsung have dropped as a brand. The phone industry is also been overtaken by Apple and Samsung's newest models S5 and iPhone 6.
I think Sony are not going to go into administration or debt as slowly they are selling their divisions they are not doing well in, just like they have done with their Vaio (PC) business

Labour minimum wage promise would see £8 per hour rate by 2020
  • Minimum wage would rise to £7 an hour in 2015
  • Current rate £6.50 (1st of October)
  • The proposed increase would affect around 1.4 million jobs
  • Unemployment expected to fall to 5.5%
  • "The minimum wage is set at the highest rate it can be without putting job creation at risk at the moment." - Katja Hall
Government sources have suggested that the rate would probably rise to £8 by the end of the next Parliament if it continued on current trends. The TUC has called for the minimum wage to increase to £10 an hour.

By doing this will resolve and balance the cost of living as recently people have been struggling to pay bills die electric and gas due to the constant rise in figures. Gas and electrical prices have increased by 20% in these past years and companies like British Gas are being investigated for increasing their prices too much.

  • $100 million profit in 2013

MinecraftMinecraft has become a global phenomenon since its launch in 2009 as an incomplete “alpha” project. Since then, the game, which provides users with randomly generated environments in which to craft all manner of buildings, has sold over 50m copies on PC, smartphone and consoles. Minecraft the game was first released on PC as an Beta but was then ported over to Playstation and Xbox consoles shortly after its official PC release.

“Minecraft will continue to evolve, just like it has since the start of development. We don’t know specific plans for Minecraft’s future yet, but we do know that everyone involved wants the community to grow and become even more amazing than it’s ever been. Stopping players making cool stuff is not in anyone’s interests.” - Mojang Statement

My views on this that Microsoft are in trouble as a gaming industry recently been reported that the competitor the playstation was outselling the Xbox 3:1 and has almost 3 times the amount of units sold to consumers. I think this is Microsofts step to move out of the gaming industry and start fresh elsewhere.

Traffic halted on M25 as 13 'illegal immigrants' flee lorry
  • 13 suspected illegal immigrants ran from a lorry
  • 13 people were arrested for immigration offences
  • Surrey Police received a number of calls around 8.50am from members of the public reporting that they had seen a large group of people getting out of the back of a lorry
  • 22nd of September on the M25
Traffic on the M25 was halted due to an unexpected lorry of immigrants was discovered, police was rushed at the scene at 8:50pm where all 13 immigrants were searched and arrested on site. The lorry containing the immigrants later was dismissed and was released after surrey police had arrived at the site.

I think that this is a very concerning issues with the UK border agency. Many illegal immigrants migrate to the UK and many are not discovered. I think a real system should be put in place where they scan lorries and items on ships that come from foreign countries as they are coming in without any hassle.

David Haines 'beheading': Recap of updates after ISIS release video showing execution of British hostage
    David Cawthorne Haines
  • Mr Haines was taken hostage while working for acted in Syria in March 2013
  • Syria he was working to help "tens of thousands of people affected by the crisis"
  • "This is a despicable and appalling murder of an innocent aid worker" - David Cameron
The so-called Islamic State (IS) released a graphic video showing the 44-year-old being murdered by a militant with a knife. The murderer speaks with a British accent and is believed to be the same man who beheaded US journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff in recent weeks. Mr Haines, who lived in Scone before moving abroad, was taken hostage in Syria in March last year.First Minister Alex Salmond said the release of the video "has demonstrated a degree of brutality which defies description", adding: "It should be remembered that Mr Haines was in the region as an aid worker helping local people.

Personally I think that this has a strong message. The islamics are trying to get there point across but yet none of the media want to display what they have to say. They would behead a british citizen for no reason there is obviously a purpose to the attack.
