Tired of forgetting your password? You don't need one any more, says Yahoo
  • Two step verification works by a user logging in with their usual fixed password
  • Sends code to mobile phone which is entered on computer
  • The “on-demand” password service is opt-in and currently only available in the US.
Yahoo have introduced a new method of entering credentials onto their website. Eliminating the need of memorising passwords and and improving security
Yahoo Mail now offers a service similar to “two-step verification”, a security measure employed by other email providers, but the difference is the removal of the first step.

Taking away passwords will have a huge spike in phone hackings and privacy issues may arise.

Steps:
1) Sign in to your Yahoo.com account.
2) Click on your name at the top right corner to go to your account information page.
3) Select “Security” in the left bar.
4) Click on the slider for “On-demand passwords” to opt-in.
5) Enter your phone number and Yahoo will send you a verification code.
6) Enter the code and voila!

Snapchat

http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2015/mar/12/snapchat-worth-15bn-after-alibaba-invesment
Snapchat 'worth $15bn' after Alibaba invesment
  • Alibaba is investing $200m in Snapchat
  • Snapchat value $15bn
  • Snapchat was first released in 2011
  • Share price stands at $81.99
  • Snapchat, which allows its 100m users to send messages that disappear in seconds, had sought capital to extend its core service
Snapchat's headquarters.Alibaba is investing $200m in Snap Chat, boosting its current valuation of $5 to $15. The funding from the Chinese ecommerce company, first reported by Bloomberg, means that Snapchat’s worth has increased by $5bn in a matter of months. It dwarfs the $3bn offered by Facebook for the company in late 2013.

I think that snap chat as an organisation will not do well in a few years, people are starting to drift away from using snap chat and is a dying social networking platform. Snapchat have no way of income as the services they provide are free and ad less, therefore the company is only supported from funds from the bank. Future development can show that the business can be profitable when a subscription model or adverts start to appear.

collective identity

1) Who are you?
This is about creating an identity for yourself and how our ideas on self image are. There is a certain way we are and a difference of how we want to be seen. The way the media informs us about fashion etc. has an influence on how we use it.
Rise of the individual

2) Media saturation is constant media surrounding everybody, whether it be TV or online. I agree we do live in a media saturated world but this may not be a bad thing as media is needed in the world as a way of communication and innovation of technology and future developments.
We as individuals are in control of our public image when it comes to the internet and such.
Data mining is a good idea as it provides consumers with the benefit of being introduced to products they may be interested in.

The movement is a Twitter trend called #TwitterSilence, and it involves an ironic day of quiet in protest of women's inability to speak out on Twitter without incurring some form of abuse.

Chad Evans

  • On 20 April 2012 Chedwyn Evans, a 23 year old professional footballer, was convicted of rape at Caernarfon Crown Court
  • On Friday 17th October 2014 at 5am he was released from custody and will continue the fight to clear his name
  • Complainant who was alleged to have been raped in this case stated when interviewed by the police and subsequently maintained in Court that she could not remember anything at all, other than a very brief period in a take-away
Ched Evans, the footballer convicted of rape, has faced criticism from fans and women's groups alike over his potential return to the sport

Stopped league one offering him a long term deal ruined his football career.

21,000 people backed the petition in less than 24 hours,
160,000 signatures in September.

Among the fastest-growing online petitions ever - has changed the minds of football mangers
Twitter, where she has around 2,000 followers

"We do believe he has the right to work. We believe that it does not have to be in a role where he influences views about sexual violence, and his presence on your pitch will do this."

Women are being harsh on Chad Evans even though he has done something wrong, many children look up to him as a role model. Everybody makes mistakes and being drunk and committing these crimes are different to being sober. Maybe the petition should be about illegalising alcohol rather than stopping him from having a successful career. The substance caused him to make these actions and he should be accounted for them.

What if the woman alleged of being raped isn't telling the truth about the night and is lying about not knowing.
